This week’s edition of Fav Foto Friday is this lazy little bird seed thief. I have to admit that the squirrels are just as amusing to watch as all the birds that come to the feeder. They are brave little ones. They get to the point that they know most of the time I am not really going to come out and chase them off so they just keep an eye on me while they enjoy a little snack. They will come right up to the screen door sometimes to checkout whatever may be nearby and see if it might be good to eat.

I see them quite often ‘resting’ or sunbathing along the railing, which I always think is amusing. I am glad they feel so comfortable at our house.

This week’s edition of Fav Foto Friday is a favorite barn (it is probably more like a garage than a barn…but let me have my fantasies!) that I pass often in my pet sitting travels to a few of my customer’s homes. It always catches my eye as I am driving past and it is always beautiful! I have photos of it in the winter and spring and summer and fall…and it always looks beautiful to me.

I am a bit of a ‘barn stalker’ and enjoy stopping to grab a photo of them whenever possible. This one just happens to be one of the prettiest ones that I pass by often.

This week’s edition of Fav Foto Friday continues with the spring theme. It has been such a cold spring! We have a glimpse of sunshine and then it is back to being chilly and rainy.  I had to go to FL this past weekend in order to find some sunshine! But when I came back home trees were finally filling out and more flowers popping up.

These are the azalea that are outside my office at the church that were just little hints of flowers when I left last week. Yesterday, they were looking especially pretty in the morning that I couldn’t resist stopping to take a picture.

This week’s edition of Fav Foto Friday continues with the theme of Spring. I can’t help it. I am always obsessed with every blossom and bloom each spring. I have been taking photos all week of various trees and flowers that are in full bloom at the moment. It is a reminder that spring really is here…despite the still cold days!

I especially love the dogwoods when they are blooming! These 2 photos are of dogwoods that are at one of my pet sitting client’s home. I always look forward to them blooming each year. I favor the pink ones…but the white are pretty as well.

This week’s edition of Fav Foto Friday is a series of 3 photos a few days apart as the buds on the trees open a little bit more each day…plus a 4th photo of the driveway flanked with these beautiful trees.

A side perk of pet sitting that I also enjoy, is being able to share the beauty of the various yards, beautiful flowers, trees and open space at some of my client’s homes. Last week I spent the entire week sitting for one of my dog clients. The ‘human clients’ were actually gone for more like a week and a half but the beginning of their time away was still sort of winter-like.

But just as I was beginning to lose hope that Spring was never going spring…the sun finally came out and it started to warm up. Each new day you could see the buds on various trees and flowers finally coming out. Bushes and trees finally had a sort of light green haze to them, evidence that spring was springing!

This particular client has these flowering trees lining the driveway that just got prettier and prettier as the days went by and I couldn’t help stopping to get some photos every couple of days. I’m not exactly sure what kind of trees they are…maybe dogwoods? Regardless of what kind they are, I think they are beautiful. Each day I walked down that drive, I was able to watch them grow, from little tiny buds to pretty full flowers, in the span of about a week.

Spring has Sprung!!

This week’s edition of Fav Foto Friday are photos of our very fickle weather! Last week it was crocuses and daffodils and this week is complete with the effects of the ‘Nor’easter that was threatening the North East’ last weekend. As predicted, the snow didn’t really stick around but it was especially pretty in the morning. Maybe because we all knew it wouldn’t stick around for long that it seemed to look especially beautiful…and then by midday the temps were in the 50s (Farenheit) and there was no trace of snow anywhere!

This week’s edition of Fav Foto Friday is proof that spring is near…despite the fact that news reports tell me that there is a ‘significant Nor’easter targeting the east coast‘ for this weekend.

This brave little crocus was enjoying the chilly morning sunshine at the base of a tree near where I parked my car the other day. I  appreciate the coming of spring more and more each year. I love to see the buds popping up everywhere you look.

First little purple crocus of spring

And Spring arose on the garden fair,

Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;

Each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast

Rose from the dreams of it’s wintry rest.

-Percy Bysshe Shelley

And because I especially love daffodils…another photo of a bunch of daffodils a friend gave me last weekend when a bunch of us got together. I have enjoyed watching them open and bloom at my kitchen window all week. And they smell so pretty!!
