Dear Mom…

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Dear Mom.”

Write a letter to your mom. Tell her something you’ve always wanted to say, but haven’t been able to.

Dear Mom,

Have I told you lately how much I love you?!?!

I love you to Neptune and back 🙂

I realize that the more common version of that statement is, “I love you to the Moon and back” but seeing how Neptune is the furthest planet from the Earth…then of course, I love you that much…and more! 🙂

As I have gotten older, I appreciate you more and more every day! I may not have always known how good you were when I was younger. Or that all the things you made us do really was for our own good (I know you told us that they were…but I didn’t believe it then.) But as I grow older, it really does seem to make you wiser…sometimes.

The more I see and hear of other people’s relationships with their moms, I am so grateful that I had you as my mom. Of course, it wasn’t always ‘sunshine and rainbows’…there were lots of bumps in the road…but in the end…you have been… and still are the best mom ever!!

Thank you!!

Thank you for always making sure that we had enough….even if that meant you didn’t.

Thank you for always having our best interests in mind…despite our rebellious ways.

Thank you for telling us how special and loved and wanted we were…and still are today.

Thank you for always trying to keep us safe…especially when we went ahead and did things our own way.

Thank you for teaching us how to be good, responsible and caring individuals…although, we may still stumble with this…we try.

Thank you for providing us with a loving home…where we are still welcome, despite being all grown up.

Thank you for teaching us so many things…in spite of the fact, that some of those things, we didn’t really want to learn.

Thank you for always being our safe place…in a sometimes not very safe world.

Thank you for always loving us…even when we weren’t very love-able.

Thank you for EVERYTHING!!
