Tasty Thursday

I happened to stumble across an event hosted over at World and Time Enough that I thought might be fun to participate in…Tasty Thursday. Where you think back on your week and pick the tastiest thing you ate. It can be from breakfast, lunch or dinner. It can be something you made, or something you bought. Sweet, savory, bitter, as long as you loved it!

It has been a crazy, busy week in my pet sitting world…which means I have spent lots of time in the car…not to mention lots of meals in the car.

Well, yesterday, was an especially crazy busy day for me and at lunch time I needed a little pick me up. I was craving something salty and sweet…wasn’t really thinking about healthy at all…when, as if on cue, a McD’s appeared in the distance.

I know, I know…not good for you…yada yada yada…

McDsSplurgeBut it did fit the salty and sweet criteria of my cravings…so in I drove…up to the drive thru window and found myself ordering off the dollar menu…a small fries, 4 piece nuggets and a small strawberry shake.

I’m sorry…but it was delicious!! Just what my cravings needed…salty fries…sweet, cold shake…and chicken nuggets to satisfy some vague idea of health…lol. It was glorious! And I was way less cranky as I continued on my way to visit the rest of my pet sitting charges.

Tasty it was!! Healthy maybe not…but hey…I got a small fries, and a small shake and even threw in chicken…and even opted for no whip cream or cherry on  my shake…it was practically healthy!! 🙂

  1. I think you did great! You went as healthy as you could- good job! 🙂 I always rationalize my fast food cravings this way “It may be bad for my health, but it’s bad for everyone else’s health if I’m hangry”…lol.

  2. LOL, about once every few months, I get a craving for fast food. Sometimes you just need that fix. For me, it’s usually the fries–I’m not typically a fan, but dipping fries in a vanilla sundae is a nice treat every once in a while.

    1. Yeah, I try not to have fast food often. It is mostly reserved for road trips or especially crazy pet sitting days.
