I have been feeling so overwhelmed lately!! There is so much to do…and so little time! I have all these little (and not so little) projects that I want to get to, books to read, knitting projects to start (a few cool days and my knitting muse has returned!), online classes to work on, not to mention, a blog to write for…so many things vying for my attention and yet I can’t manage to work up any enthusiasm for anything lately. Such a weird combination of emotions!!
On Sunday, I happened to read a post on a blog I follow that mentioned a 30 Days to a Happy Healthy Home challenge which I decided to join, hoping that it might inspire me to get some of those little (and not so little) projects accomplished. As a matter of fact, yesterday’s challenge was to start in the kitchen (great timing huh?!) and start organizing your work spaces in the kitchen. Consequently, the challenge gave me the little kick in the butt I needed to keep going tackling one cabinet or drawer at a time.
Today, I have been working like a mad woman trying to accomplish some of those projects I mentioned…like continuing the organization of my kitchen cabinets, which I had started a few weeks ago, but which has continued to drag on slowly. Pet sitting has its perks like, chunks of free-time through out the day to accomplish small projects or chores, however the last few weeks of the summer tend to be the busiest time so my chunks of free-time have been few and far between.
Slow and steady wins the race! In this way, I have managed to tackle a few more cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, which means that there are now more organized cabinets than there are unorganized cabinets…finally! WooHoo!!

Last night, I did also manage to work on some assignments for the online class I am taking for WordPress Web Development thru Skillcrush, which has been fun. It’s just finding time to squeeze in some school work each day can be challenging. After working all day, sometimes I just feel like crashing and vegging out…and have little motivation or brain power left for school work!
And today, I have even managed a little time to blog…mostly cause I think I am can’t move now that I have lifted and cleaned and hauled out all kinds of stuff today…but hey, whatever it takes to get a few minutes to myself in front of the computer.
At any rate, today was pretty productive and I am happy that I am getting a more and more organized kitchen!!! Slow and steady…
So much to do…and so little time…
That’s my state of mind too…so little time, and so much to do. I try to list three things to do and then try to finish them by the end of the day…and I still fail.
I have a list and try to go by that but then in the process I usually find something else that needs doing and end up getting side tracked from list…so feel like I’m not getting anywhere.
Sandy I can relate to your post. I have been cleaning, lately, mostly with a trash bag getting rid of stuff that I have been putting off. Every week I say my trash men must love me. Here’s a good one, one week I had so much I felt bad, so I went outside to give them a tip, they told me they couldn’t take it. So I put the money on the ground, after that they laughed and said if it is trash they have to pick it up.

That is funny!! Yes I have used trash bags too…I’m just tired of stuff!
Breathe, breathe, breathe…then run like hell.
Sage advice!!
Good job, Sandy! Slow and steady wins the race.Or in the case, accomplishes much.
I don’t know about much…but getting a few things accomplished anyway 🙂
